Tesla has made its debut in India by opening its first showroom in Mumbai's upscale financial district of Bandra Kurla Complex.
The electric vehicle maker has introduced its top-selling SUV, the Model Y, priced at Rs 61 lakh in Mumbai, with deliveries set to start from the third quarter.
Tesla will provide a free wall connector as a limited-time offer with every purchase of a new vehicle in India and will also launch its Supercharger and wall connector in the country.
In India, Tesla is expected to compete with German luxury carmakers like BMW and Mercedes-Benz, rather than mass-market players.
