Tesla, Volkswagen and Chevrolet purchases are highly dependent on EV rebates: JD Powers

  • J.D. Power's study found that incentives played a crucial role in consumer decisions, with 64% of premium brand EV owners and 49% of mass market EV owners selecting their vehicles based on tax credits and incentives.
  • Volkswagen, Chevrolet, and Tesla owners were the most influenced by incentives, with 81% of Volkswagen buyers, 77% of Chevrolet buyers, and 72% of Tesla buyers citing tax credits and incentives as the top reason for their purchase.
  • Trade groups, including the Zero Emission Transportation Association, have come out in support of keeping federal incentives to boost job opportunities and support domestic EV manufacturers.
