Former Naughty Dog employee Vinit Agarwal, director of the cancelled The Last of Us Online project, is starting his own development team in Japan.
Agarwal left Naughty Dog in January and announced his move to Japan on social media along with forming a game studio focused on making multiplayer games.
During his tenure at Naughty Dog, Agarwal worked on projects like The Last of Us Part II and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
The Last of Us Online, a project in development after The Last of Us Part II's release, was scrapped by Sony in December 2023; it was expected to expand on the Factions multiplayer mode from the original game.
