Volkswagen is set to launch an electric Golf GTI before the end of the decade, described as a 'monster' car by CEO Thomas Schäfer.The electric Golf GTI will maintain its signature front-wheel-drive configuration powered by electric motors on the front axle.Volkswagen also confirmed the arrival of a Golf R EV with an all-wheel-drive setup, both riding on the new Scalable Systems Platform.The electric GTI and Golf R models are expected to showcase impressive technology and won't be available for another five years.
