The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) aims to 'fix' the automatic stop/start feature in cars, considered one of the most annoying features by many drivers.
Automatic stop/start technology, introduced to improve fuel economy, has become more prevalent in the US, with around 65 percent of new cars having this feature.
Despite the annoyance, studies have shown that automatic stop/start technology helps reduce CO2 emissions and yields fuel savings, with potential savings as high as 26.4 percent in city driving.
The EPA's plan to 'fix' the technology remains unclear, but drivers can already turn off the feature manually as a workaround.
