<ul><li>The EU will be mandating new labels on smartphones and tablets to indicate repairability, energy efficiency, and durability.</li><li>The labels will start appearing on devices on June 20, similar to existing labels for home appliances and TVs.</li><li>The labels will feature energy efficiency rating, battery life, charge cycles, durability, repairability, and dust/water resistance (IP rating).</li><li>Other new requirements include the availability of spare parts, battery life retention, scratch/drop protection, and timely OS updates.</li></ul>
