The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has cleared SpaceX for a 9th Starship test flight following the failure of the 8th test flight in early March that ended in an explosion.
The FAA conducted a safety review and determined that SpaceX has addressed the causes of the mishap, allowing the Starship vehicle to return to flight.
For the upcoming 9th test flight, SpaceX plans to reuse a previously launched Super Heavy booster rocket, which has led the FAA to expand the Aircraft Hazard Area as a safety precaution.
The FAA has also issued a launch license for SpaceX's 9th Starship test flight, allowing the company to increase its annual operations from five to 25 flights at Boca Chica, Texas.
