Jeep discontinued the fifth-generation Cherokee in 2023 after a 10-year production run, but has now announced a new Cherokee for the 2026 model year.
The 2026 Jeep Cherokee features a new design language, including the iconic seven-slot grille, and will be based on Stellantis's STLA Large architecture allowing for various powertrain options such as hybrid, pure gas, and electric options.
Speculations suggest that the Cherokee may offer a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine but not matching the power output of the Wagoneer S. An electric variant might have a setup similar to the Wagoneer S, delivering competitive power.
Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf mentioned the new Cherokee will have competitive pricing positioning it between the Compass and Grand Cherokee models, with an official debut later this year and expected availability in the US.
