The National Gallery in London has opened its first members' area, known as the Supporters' House, designed by Studio Linse.
The Gallery's membership programme, which offers supporters free exhibition access and exclusive events, has gained around 60,000 members.
The Supporters' House features rooms representing different seasons, with a new House membership tier priced at £130/year.
Design inspiration for the space came from Northern European landscape painters, with each room embodying a season like winter mist or summer blush.
Furniture for the Supporters' House includes pieces from the National Gallery's archive, with added touches like woven silk wall panels and damask curtains.
Different seating heights and arrangements provide varying atmospheres in the lounge, restaurant, and private dining room within the Supporters' House.
The Gallery plans to monitor occupancy and feedback to ensure a pleasant experience for all members using the new area.
The tiered membership system allows flexibility for members to access or opt-out of utilizing the Supporters' House facilities.
The design pays homage to the Gallery's heritage, creating a cohesive and immersive experience for members within the historic National Gallery building.
The refurbishment includes opening up previously filled arches and repurposing existing furniture to maintain a classic British aesthetic.
