The beta version of the parametric notebook editor concept, Olive, has been completed after two years of development.Olive is an Integrated Notebook Development Environment that uses multiple dispatch with type parameters for various functionalities. It features a multi-cell concept where different cell types can be created using hot-keys and customizable bindings.Cells in Olive are loaded by defining new methods for build, allowing for an extensible ecosystem of cells. The project focuses on extensibility, allowing for the addition of new functions to change the entire design of Olive.Olive supports mixing cells of different languages, such as Python and Julia, and can read and edit various file formats.Recent developments include overhauling the find and replace functionality and implementing cell undo.A new Group editor has been added to control permissions for clients, with plans for additional options in the future.Olive now offers the ability to customize its style-sheet within the editor, allowing for theme changes and style mutations. The project is close to deployment as OliveCreator, with plans for further releases in the future.
