  • Treat Log is a tradition where folks would bring in homemade baked goods to share, and employees would write what was brought on a sheet of paper usually taped on the table, that was spread out on multiple pages over the years.
  • At one workplace, to indicate the CEO's mood, one of two little rubber ducks (librarian or jazzercize) would be placed on top of the monitor. This indicates whether the CEO is approachable or not.
  • Another unique office tradition is the annual Breakfast Burrito event, where the owner of the shoppette would bring homemade breakfast burritos to sell on Thursdays in the office basement, and people would eagerly await them.
  • In Engineering, they play pranks on people who are out, for example when their manager took time off to refinish his basement, they built a loft in his office but had to take it down since the fire marshal did not allow it.
  • One office has emotional support rubber chickens that can be honked for help and new employees get a chicken tucked amongst their belongings as a welcome gift.
  • Another tradition is hiking coupons where employees would get a coupon for one hour of hiking for doing a good job in a national park interpreters job.
