Robert Wickens, an elite racing driver, made a remarkable comeback to top-level racing after a 2018 IndyCar crash left him with paraplegia.
In 2022, Wickens returned to racing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series with Bryan Herta Autosport using a Hyundai Elantra N TCR equipped with hand controls.
He later won the championship and moved on to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series racing a Chevrolet Corvette Z06.R GT3 with DXDT Racing, made possible by Bosch's Electronic Braking System.
Bosch engineers collaborated with Corvette and Pratt Miller to adapt a brake-by-wire system for Wickens' hand controls, allowing him to achieve competitive pace in his first test with the Corvette at Sebring.
