Tesla's Model Y recently became more affordable with the introduction of a new variant starting at under $40,000 after a $11,000 reduction in price.
The new Model Y Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive starts at $46,630, $4,000 cheaper than the dual-motor version, and offers a range of 357 miles, a top speed of 125 mph, and a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds.
Additional upgrades include 20-inch rims, Full Self-Driving option for $8,000, and a tow package for $1,000. Various exterior color options are available at different price points.
Despite the price drop, the Model Y is not yet the $25,000 affordable EV promised by Tesla. The Model 3 remains Tesla's cheapest option starting at $44,130 with a range of up to 363 miles.
