The nonprofit organization Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) has filed a lawsuit against the German Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) for allowing 'monster pickup trucks' on its roads.
The lawsuit demands that the KBA provide information about permits for pickups, which has previously been refused.
DUH argues that pickups emit three to nine times more CO2 than most European cars and lack mandatory safety systems.
They are calling for stricter regulations and measures to reduce the environmental impact and safety risks caused by these vehicles.
