Engineers from South Korea’s Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology have developed the Flip-Pelt wearable device for ultra-fast thermal feedback in VR.
The device uses Peltier elements to create heating and cooling effects on the user's skin.
Instead of reversing the thermal transfer, the device physically swaps the side of the elements that touch the skin.
The device contains eight Peltier elements controlled by servo motors and an Arduino board, allowing for instant changes in perceived temperature.
