<ul><li>Cognizant recently paid former CEO Brian Humphries a severance of USD 3.8 million (over Rs 28 crore), which is in line with the company's new policy of capping severance pay.</li><li>The severance payout for Humphries comprised 12 months' pay, a separation bonus, as well as a bonus and base salary.</li><li>Under the new policy, Cognizant restricts cash severance benefits to 2.99 times the employee's base salary and target bonus.</li><li>According to a company spokesperson, the severance policy for senior executives aligns with sound corporate governance and is consistent with the practices of other public companies.</li></ul>
