Indian techie Soham Parekh's moonlighting scandal has shed light on the growing trend of remote tech workers handling multiple jobs amid the commonality of remote work.
Following the exposure by Playground AI founder Suhail Doshi, numerous Silicon Valley CEOs raised similar allegations against Parekh, revealing that he is one among many employees managing multiple remote jobs.
Tech influencer Deedy Das stated that Parekh represents just the surface of a larger issue, referring to a viral Reddit post from a person who claimed to earn $800k a year by working five jobs concurrently through r/Overemployed.
The individual behind the viral Reddit post detailed strategies on managing multiple jobs such as working as a consultant and maintaining anonymity from the organizations, similar to Parekh's situation where he engaged with multiple companies simultaneously.
