Timber Twist is a collaborative work by Ulf Mejergren Architects (UMA) and Esperd Art Team's Travis Child, inspired by larval structures of the Bagworm moth.
The cabin is constructed using aspen logs in a spiraling formation, reimagining the traditional log cabin into a triangular shape with rotating layers and a chisel-carved entrance resembling beaver tooth marks.
Timber Twist symbolizes reflection on the shells we build in life, offering safety and identity but potentially limiting exploration of the vast world around us.
Installed at Virserum Konsthall, the structure invites contemplation on the concept of home, grounding, protection, and the possibility of alternative ways of being.
