Crystal Dynamics, the developers behind games like Tomb Raider, Soul Reaver, and Perfect Dark, have laid off 17 team members to better align with current business needs.
The layoffs do not affect the company's current project plans or collaborations, which include a new Tomb Raider game, Tomb Raider and Legacy Of Kain remasters, and a Perfect Dark reboot in collaboration with The Initiative.
One of the affected employees is Mark Vernon, a senior combat designer.
Crystal Dynamics' acquisition by Embracer has resulted in the Tomb Raider license falling under a separate corporate spin-off entity called Middle-earth Enterprises.
