Tor Alva, the tallest 3D printed white tower, located in Mulegns, Swiss Alps, was unveiled on May 20th, 2025.The Origen cultural foundation, in collaboration with ETH Zurich, led the construction of the tower.The 30-meter-high Tor Alva is open for guided tours daily and will host performances from July 2025.3D printed using soft concrete, the tower features twisting hollow columns without the need for a framework.The soft concrete was extruded by a robot at ETH Zurich, incorporating steel reinforcement within the 3D printing process.The White Tower's design team consists of architects Benjamin Dillenburger and Michael Hansmeyer.It is part of the National Competence Center Digital Fabrication and showcases innovative 3D printing technology.The tower's modular design allows for easy dismantling and potential reassembly in a new location.Tor Alva serves as a cultural space for art installations, music, and theater performances.It features 32 branching columns, providing atmospheric rooms and a vaulted concert venue with panoramic views.
