Roman Storm, co-founder of Tornado Cash, has filed a motion to dismiss the criminal charges against him.
The Fifth Circuit Court ruled that sanctions imposed on Tornado Cash's smart contracts by the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control were unlawful.
Storm argues that the recent court ruling undermines the charges against him, as autonomous smart contracts cannot be considered property under the law.
He also calls for the dismissal of additional charges, including conspiracy and money laundering, stating they are based on flawed legal grounds.
