The U.S. government is investigating TP-Link, the popular home internet router brand, for possible links to China-backed cyberattacks. The investigation could lead to a potential ban on TP-Link routers as early as next year.TP-Link holds about 65% of the U.S. market and is even used by the Department of Defense and NASA.The ban, if implemented, would be one of the most extensive extractions of Chinese telecom equipment from the U.S. since Huawei was removed in 2019.
