British artist Alex Chinneck, known for his innovative urban art projects, unveiled his latest sculpture 'A Week at the Knees' in London's Charterhouse Square during Clerkenwell Design Week.
Inspired by his earlier work 'From the Knees of my Nose to the Belly of my Toes' in Margate, the new installation features a whimsical facade made from 320 meters of recycled steel and 7,000 bricks.
The sculpture, resembling a figure sitting with knees drawn up, blends into the historical character of the neighborhood, creating a unique gateway for visitors in London.
Collaborating with UK manufacturers, Chinneck transformed heavy materials into a surprisingly thin and elegant structure that mimics a real building but appears light and playful.
