Donald Trump has appointed Elon Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge).
The Doge department, despite its name, will not be a government agency but will provide advice and guidance to the White House in driving large-scale structural reform and an entrepreneurial approach to government.
The duo's role includes conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the federal government, recommending drastic reforms, and reducing government spending by $2 trillion.
Elon Musk has pledged to document all department actions online for transparency and promised to keep a leaderboard for wasteful spending of tax dollars.
