Twin low-pressure systems are bringing heavy rains to North India, with a fresh system intensifying over West Bengal and Bangladesh, and likely moving towards the Himalayan foothills.
The slow movement of the systems threatens East and North-East India, Central India, and North-West India with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, making the second week of July unusually wet.
The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings for extremely heavy rainfall in various regions, including Rajasthan, Odisha, coastal West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh on specific days this week.
Further monsoon activity is predicted over parts of South India, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and other areas over the coming days according to IMD forecasts.
