Twitter will charge users to secure accounts via text message
- Twitter will start charging users for text message two-factor authentication (2FA) method.
- After March 20, only Twitter Blue subscribers can use text message 2FA for their accounts.
- Twitter aims to discourage bad actors from using phone-number based 2FA.
- Non-Twitter Blue subscribers have 30 days to disable text message 2FA and enroll in another method.
