The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is investigating consumer complaints that Uber Technologies signed them up for Uber One subscriptions without their consent and made it difficult to cancel.
Uber confirmed that it is cooperating with the investigation and will answer any questions the FTC may have about their cancellation policies.
The Uber One subscription, which has approximately 25 million subscribers, offers discounts on rides and delivery orders for an annual fee.
The FTC's 'click-to-cancel' rule, mandating easy cancellation for subscriptions, memberships, and recurring payment programs, is set to go into effect.
