The U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is launching strategic market status investigations into the mobile ecosystems of Apple and Google.
The investigations are part of the new Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act (DMCCA) and aim to determine if Apple and Google have strategic market status in their respective mobile ecosystems.
The CMA previously closed investigations into Apple and Google's mobile app ecosystems, but made it clear that it would address competition concerns using its new powers.
Stakeholders have three weeks to submit comments, with outcomes expected to be announced by October 22, 2025.
