The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved the construction of a controlled-access greenfield link expressway between the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and the Purvanchal Expressway to enhance connectivity across major regional corridors.
The project, totaling Rs 4,775.84 crore, will interlink various expressways like the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, and others, covering key locations such as Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Ghazipur.
The expressway, spanning 49.96 kilometers initially expandable to eight lanes, will be constructed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model and is expected to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The project aims to provide seamless and rapid access across Uttar Pradesh, fostering regional development through improved logistics and transportation, and the entire cost of Rs 4,775.84 crore will be covered by the state government.
