Updates on three past letter-writers from Alison Green's website - Ask A Manager.
The first writer changed her resume to show her legal name but is now going by her middle name at her internship where her boss deemed her preferred name unprofessional.
The second writer successfully banned all money collections on the team except for birthday cakes, cards and decided not to do a Secret Santa but took everyone out for a holiday lunch.
The third writer accepted the new unlimited PTO policy but had wished for a heads-up on the change to occur sooner, had concerns about the abuse of PTO and that there will be no company-wide winter break like in previous years.
Many accepted the situation and moved on but some raised concerns that not getting paid if employees leave the company on unlimited time off is sucky.
A silver lining for the third writer is that rolling over 5 vacation days from spouse's January-December schedule made it easier with the open PTO policy.
