The US Department of Defense (DOD) has initiated the second round of the Replicator drone program, aimed at rapidly developing autonomous defensive technologies.
The first round of the program included the purchase of the Switchblade 600 drone from AeroVironment, which is small and portable, offering quick and easy deployment for soldiers.
The second round, Replicator 1.2, includes the purchase of the Ghost X drone from Anduril Industries and the C-100 UAS from Performance Drone Works, with deployment expected by August 2025.
The Replicator program aims to leverage commercial best practices and industry partnerships to enhance the United States' drone capabilities and strengthen its military force.
