The US Embassy and consulates in Mexico have issued a security alert warning travelers about using dating apps in certain areas of the country due to potential kidnapping risks.
Travelers are advised to exercise caution, meet in public areas, and avoid isolated locations like residences or hotel rooms where crimes are more likely to occur.
Jalisco in Mexico is designated as a 'Level 3' threat for crime and kidnapping, while Nayarit is classified as 'Level 2,' urging travelers to reconsider their trips or exercise caution.
Other popular European countries like Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom also have 'Level 2' travel advisories from the State Department.
