The US energy regulator, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), has rejected a request to reconsider blocking Amazon Web Services (AWS) from finalizing a power purchase agreement with Talen's nuclear plant.
FERC expressed concerns regarding the transparency of the deal and the possibility of increased consumer prices.
Talen, the energy company, had filed a lawsuit in January following FERC's denial of their rehearing request.
The agreement would have allowed Amazon to bypass the utility grid and purchase power directly from Talen's Susquehanna nuclear plant to support its data center.
