Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Acting FAA head Chris Rocheleau stated that they have watched videos of the Air India crash but do not see an immediate need to ground Boeing 787.
Duffy talked with NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy, revealing an NTSB and FAA team, supported by Boeing and GE Aerospace, is heading to India for investigation.
Duffy emphasized it is premature to make decisions solely based on crash videos and that the team must assess the situation on the ground.
The FAA, Boeing, and GE are collaborating as part of the crash investigation, and the US government will prioritize safety recommendations based on facts.
Rocheleau affirmed that any emerging risks will be addressed diligently as the investigation progresses.
The FAA is ready to allocate extra resources to gather necessary data to ensure the safety of air travelers.
