The US Senate Banking Committee is set to vote on a stablecoin framework bill on March 13.
The bill, called Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act, has been updated after consultation with committee Democrats.
The bill aims to bring issuers of US dollar stablecoins with market caps over $10 billion under Federal Reserve regulations.
It also imposes higher standards for foreign stablecoin issuers, giving a competitive advantage to US-issued stablecoins like USDC and RLUSD.
