Using real-time GIS platforms and data dashboards, a solution was proposed to address delayed reporting and invisible hotspots of malaria cases in Uganda.
The proposed solution includes a mobile GIS reporting platform paired with an admin dashboard to capture patient data with GPS coordinates, update interactive maps and heatmaps, identify outbreak clusters in real time, and provide decision-makers with live analytics and trends.
Pitching the idea involved emphasizing the storytelling aspect to make people care, highlighting the impact of the solution on real lives, and the importance of connecting technical solutions with human stories.
The experience emphasized that tech solutions need human stories, pitching builds confidence, and using technology for social impact can address real-world problems effectively.
