Valve founder Gabe Newell’s neural chip company Starfish Neuroscience is developing a custom chip for brain-computer interfaces.The chip aims to enable wireless, battery-free brain implants capable of reading and stimulating neural activity in multiple areas.Starfish's tiny chip, measuring 2 × 4mm, features 32 electrode sites, onboard data processing, and fabrication in TSMC 55nm process.The company is seeking early-stage collaborators for applications of the technology ahead of its expected availability in late 2025.
