Unionized quality assurance testers at ZeniMax, acquired by Microsoft, have reached a tentative contract agreement marking Microsoft's first union contract in the US.
The agreement includes a 13.5% pay raise on July 1 and addresses the use of AI, with union members set to vote on ratification on June 20.
The unionization of ZeniMax's QA testers through the Communications Workers of America is seen as a significant victory for the broader video game industry.
Over 2,000 Microsoft video game workers are now part of the CWA, following the footsteps of ZeniMax's QA team in unionizing.
