vietnam architects fill a narrow plot with stacked volumes to shape ‘titi’s house’

  • TiTi’s House is a newly completed residence in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, designed by NAQI & Partners for a young couple and their three children on a narrow fifty-square-meter site in District 10.
  • The house features stacked stacked volumes organized vertically across four levels, with a central atrium bringing in light and air. The interior design focuses on a restrained color palette and purposeful details to maximize the perception of space within the dense urban environment.
  • The design of TiTi’s House prioritizes adaptable spaces to balance privacy and shared connection, resisting the sense of enclosure often found in narrow tube houses in Ho Chi Minh City. The project aims to create moments of openness and enclosure that adjust to the family's daily rhythms.
  • The architects integrated an internal void, flexible spaces, and carefully placed windows to enhance ventilation and shared presence within the compact home. The project is described as a study in proportion and perception, emphasizing proportionality and adaptable spatial experiences.
