Virginia has proposed a law that would require certain reckless drivers to install in-car speed limiters.
The proposed law establishes the Intelligent Speed Assistance Program, as an alternative to suspending a person's driver's license.
If convicted of reckless driving above 100 miles per hour, drivers would be required to enroll in the program and install the device in every vehicle they own.
Tampering or bypassing the speed limiters would be considered a misdemeanor.
