Volkswagen (VW) has halted US shipments and plans to impose an import fee on its vehicles.
In response to the tariffs imposed on imported products, VW will temporarily halt rail shipments from Mexico and hold cars arriving by ship at the port.
The automaker will add an undisclosed import fee to the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of all imported vehicles to cover the 25% tariff imposed by the US.
The move by VW is likely to have a ripple effect throughout the industry, with other automakers also making pricing changes and implementing various strategies.
