Want to easily render 3D environments? Cybever and Cloud Zeta have a way

  • California-based startups Cybever and Cloud Zeta have partnered to create a joint, web-based platform that enables creators to craft immersive 3D scenes for entertainment and industry purposes. The tool will combine Cybever's AI-driven world-building platform with Cloud Zeta's 3D data management infrastructure. The platform uses OpenUSD as a common 3D asset standard, which facilitates interoperability. The partnership offers creators from gaming, film, industrial design, and beyond the ability to create 3D environments at lower costs, much faster, and with less formal graphics training. True to its goal of tackling 3D content creation challenges the partnership also looks to empower 3D graphics creators in engineering, modeling, architecture, product development, and other fields.
  • Cybever’s existing AI-based world-building platform allows 3D asset designers to upload their creations before deploying them into several different 3D environments. The OpenUSD standard, a universal 3D format is the backbone of the tool, enabling compatibility across tools and industries. The shared platform will allow users to integrate custom assets with Power integration tools from Cloud Zeta which smoothly standardize and verify assets for seamless integration across formats and engines like Unreal or Unity.
  • Cloud Zeta focuses on data management challenges that arise when combining 3D assets built with a variety of different software programs. Cloud Zeta also focuses on deep, 3D-specific metadata and information that public cloud providers do not handle. The startup brings public cloud to handle low-level needs, but it also brings in 3D-specific expertise to ensure that its product is useful for companies that need 3D.
  • The broader movement towards 3D standardization is driving Cybever's focus on usability and accessibility in which their primary objective in Cyberver is to democratize 3D world creation, empowering everyone to easily create their own 3D environments. Cai identifies OpenUSD as an excellent opportunity for fostering partnerships across industries. These partnerships create a network where companies can share, exchange, and collaborate on 3D data seamlessly.
  • For industrial applications creating a 3D model through processes such as digital twinning plays a massive role in improving production efficiency.
  • The joint Cybever-Cloud Zeta platform planned for public rollout in 2025 addresses challenges that have existed in 3D content creation for years, including high costs, complex workflows, and compatibility barriers. The combination of AI automation with scalable cloud infrastructure made possible by the partnership between Cybever and Cloud Zeta will enable games studios, film-makers, and other creators to produce 3D environments more accessible to smaller businesses and non-professional creators.
  • Cloud Zeta is the only platform that facilitates working with OpenUSD directly in a browser, integrated with cloud infrastructure. Cybever and Cloud Zeta's collaboration also aims to bring legacy 3D data into the future so that future AI-powered, creative ideas can re-use these digital assets efficiently. Despite being around for decades, there are still countless old formats that need moving into OpenUSD. This will create more accessibility for 3D data management to enable companies from different industries to use 3D without breaking the bank.
