The new Porsche 911 GT3 set a record at the Nürburgring for the fastest time around the track in a road car with a manual transmission, beating the previous record by almost 10 seconds.
The record was set by driver Jörg Bergmeister in a 911 GT3 with the Weissach package, setting a time of 6:56.294.
The upgraded GT3 with the Weissach package features lightweight components, including carbon fiber shift paddles and trim on the steering wheel, reducing the weight.
The new GT3 with manual transmission was 3.6 seconds quicker around the track than the previous generation GT3 with a PDK gearbox.
