Wells Fargo is continuing layoffs in Iowa, with reports stating another 35 workers will be let go from its Jordan Creek campus, bringing the total job cuts in the area to about 1,241.
Since April 2022, the company has been announcing reductions in headcount in Des Moines, with the latest round adding 35 more job cuts to the previously announced 159.
Wells Fargo aims to assist impacted employees in finding suitable roles within the company or externally by providing support like severance packages and career counseling.
The specific divisions affected by the recent job cuts have not been officially disclosed by the financial services company.
In May 2025, Wells Fargo indicated plans to close its Global Capability Centre in Chennai, offering employees the choice to relocate to other India locations like Bengaluru or Hyderabad.
The transition process at Wells Fargo, which includes the layoffs in Iowa and the closure of its Chennai center, is expected to conclude by the fourth quarter of the financial year 2027.
