Westpac & CEFC underpin new $200 million climate tech VC fund

  • Specialist climate tech investor Virescent Ventures has reached the $100 million first close of its second climate technology investment fund (Fund II), with backing from Westpac and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC).
  • Virescent Ventures' Fund II will focus on strategic investments in net zero startups addressing issues such as clean energy transition, decarbonizing transport, sustainable agriculture, and the circular economy.
  • Virescent Ventures' previous investments from the CEFC's Innovation Fund include green hydrogen startup Hysata, textiles dyeing climate tech startup Xefco, batteries recycler Renewable Metals, and soil decarbonization agtech Loam Bio.
