<ul data-eligibleForWebStory="true">A localized study in Indonesia was conducted to assess people's perceptions of WhatsApp privacy concerns and their actions regarding them.Concerns about WhatsApp's ties to Facebook were particularly high among individuals with a postgraduate education and women.Similar to India, Indonesian users expressed strong distrust in corporate ownership of private data.Individuals aged 25-30 and with higher education were more likely to take steps to control their visibility on WhatsApp.Indonesian users tended to adjust settings on WhatsApp to protect their privacy, despite default settings favoring openness.The desire for control and consent over personal data was evident across all demographics in Indonesia.Indonesian users are proactive in managing their privacy on WhatsApp, emphasizing consent and control in their digital interactions.
