WhatsApp Bans 99.7 Lakh Accounts In India
- WhatsApp banned over 99.67 Lakh Indian accounts for violating its terms of service and receiving complaints from users.
- 13.27 Lakh accounts were proactively banned by the platform through machine learning tools.
- WhatsApp received 9,474 user complaints and took action in 239 cases in January 2025.
- The ban comes amidst a rise in cyber frauds and scams in India.
