WhatsApp has just dropped these 9 new features – including 2 that I'm not happy about
- WhatsApp has introduced a range of new features and functions for chats and calls, including zoom for video calls and scanning and sending documents directly from WhatsApp.
- Among the new additions, two features have received mixed reactions from users.
- The update includes smoother video call quality, voice message transcripts on Channels, and the ability to add someone to an ongoing 1:1 call from a chat thread.
- WhatsApp now allows iPhone users to set it as the default app, offers events updates in chats and groups, and enables scanning and sending of documents.
- New features like video notes for channels and highlighting notifications in groups have also been added for user convenience.
- However, not all features have been well-received; the Meta AI button in EU regions has sparked outrage for being unremovable, while the real-time online status feature in group chats adds pressure on users to reply swiftly.
