Meta-owned WhatsApp has introduced voice chats for all group sizes, allowing users to connect in real-time without initiating a full group call.
Voice chats were previously limited to large groups but are now available for any group with up to 256 members, offering smoother communication during urgent or complex conversations.
Users can start a voice chat by tapping the voice chat icon in a group chat, with end-to-end encryption ensuring privacy similar to standard calls and messages.
Additional functionalities include muting mic, leaving chat, or controlling session ending, with the update rolling out globally for Android and iOS users.
