WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is preparing to integrate with other messaging platforms, enabling users to send and receive messages seamlessly across apps.
This move is in response to the European Union's Digital Markets Act, which requires Meta to open its services to third-party integrations.
The integration will maintain WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption and initially support text messages, images, voice messages, videos, and file transfers.
WhatsApp is also planning to introduce user-defined usernames for enhanced privacy and convenience.
